This British Short Hair is good with children, and grown ups a like. She is so sensitive she will come to comfort you when you are crying. Her favorite food is tuna, but she isn't picky. She would do best as an only cat.

Sylvie
Sylvie is an energetic, sweet German Shepherd looking for someone to give her a stable, loving home. She would like an active lifestyle that will give her lots of exercise. She would do best as an only dog, but in return will give more love than a whole pack.

Buddy
Buddy is a full grown Mastiff/Labrador Retriever mix. He is a staff favorite because of his sweet eyes and loving personality. He needs an active lifestyle filled with exercise, but also likes to cuddle and be loved. He is gentle with small dogs, so if you have a dog at home, bring it in to meet him.

Mobile Spay/Neuter Program (SpAN)

SpAN New Mexico is a key program of the Santa Fe Animal Shelter & Humane Society’s comprehensive effort to end animal overpopulation. The program serves an important function in the lives of animals and the overall health of communities in New Mexico. Pet overpopulation contributes greatly to animal suffering. Our mission is to end the suffering of innocent dogs and cats by reducing the number of unwanted births.

The SpAN New Mexico team is able to provide surgery and care to an average of 30 animals a day. Our per-surgery costs are significantly lower than those of similar mobile spay/neuter programs. A portion of surgery costs are offset by low fees from pet owners. Operating with a small but well-qualified team means we are able to be efficient with resources without sacrificing care for the animals. Our staff — a program coordinator, two veterinary assistants/technicians, and a surgeon — is chosen for their ability to combine care, speed and efficiency to make the most of the mobile clinic.

SPAN New Mexico has a current annual cost of $250,750, which provides for more than 100 clinics
each year across our state. This impacts the lives of thousands of animals annually, and combats the
problem of pet overpopulation. Your contribution enables SpAN to provide spay/neuter surgeries and a
model of care for the animals of New Mexico. Whatever amount you donate, you can be confident
in our commitment to running an efficient program, and in our dedication to a high level of care for
each animal we serve.

“Having personally witnessed the work that SpAN accomplishes, we know that our donation truly impacts the lives of many animals, and is helping to change attitudes about animal welfare around our state.”

— David Chickey & Trey Jordan, Donors
